Nebraska recently hired a pair of staffers, and the Cornhuskers have now released their salary information.

Quality control coach DJ Vokolek will make $120,000, and Senior Director of Player Personnel Vince Guinta will make $160,000 per year.

Vokolek is the father of Husker senior tight end Travis Vokolek.

Guinta was at Nebraska from 2004-to-2008. He spent the last 2 seasons at Baylor as Associated AD for Player Personnel. Guinta previously served in an off-field role under head coach Bill Callahan from 2004-08 in various recruiting and football operations roles, including as the assistant director of football operations.

Vokolek, a long-time Northern Iowa linebackers coach, had been in his current role as the Panthers’ linebackers coach and assistant head coach since 2017 and spent eight years overall in two stints at the school.

Recently, Scott Frost discussed the importance of these types of positions to evaluate recruits and possible transfer portal additions.

“Pro baseball teams have scouting departments for high school kids and college kids, and then they have to scout each other’s teams, too,” Frost said, per the Lincoln Journal-Star. “There’s a lot of schools in the country to try to scout all the rosters and then you’re trying to anticipate who might jump into the portal and who might not, and it could be a full-time job, absolutely.”
