Nebraska is in talks with former Houston and West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen about joining the Huskers’ coaching staff in 2024, according to a report.

That’s per 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, who did not specify what role Holgorsen would fill with Nebraska if the two parties come to an agreement. Holgorsen has been a head coach since the 2011 season.

Holgorsen was fired this season after a 5-year tenure with Houston. The Cougars went just 4-8 this season and managed double-digit wins just once during Holgorsen’s tenure with the program.

Prior to being a head coach, Holgorsen was a prolific offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State in 2010. He also served in the OC role at Houston and Texas Tech earlier in his coaching career.

Nebraska is expected to bring back Marcus Satterfield as the program’s offensive coordinator in 2024. The Huskers struggled offensively at times last season, but could be in position to take a big step forward next season.
