Nebraska reportedly set to hire general manager who has Big Ten experience
Nebraska has found a general manager in the Big 12 who has Big Ten experience.
Matt Zenitz of 247Sports reported that Matt Rhule’s program is set to hire TCU general manager Anthony Crespino. Sean Padden last year was in his first season as Nebraska’s general manager. Padden worked with Matt Rhule in 9 of Rhule’s 11 seasons as a head coach, but his role going forward is unclear.
Crespino came to TCU in December 2021, and he previously worked with coach Sonny Dykes at SMU as his chief of staff for 4 seasons (2018-21).
Crespino spent 2 years (2016-17) as assistant director of football operations at Northwestern and 2 seasons (2014-15) at Texas State as the director of football operations and director of player personnel. It was his second stint with the Bobcats, after he also worked in 2012 as an assistant director of football operations and recruiting coordinator under former TCU coach Dennis Franchione.
