Nebraska put some points on the board in a hurry vs. Illinois on Friday night.
With 6:47 remaining in the 2nd quarter, Nebraska scored on a 1-yard touchdown run by Anthony Grant. That score put the Huskers up 10-0 over Illinois.
It didn’t take much longer for Nebraska to extend its lead.
On the ensuing kickoff, a short kick appeared to confuse Illinois’ kickoff return unit. No one on the Illini was able to jump on the ball, giving the Huskers a chance to recover the accidental onside kick.
On the next play, with 6:37 remaining in the quarter, Heinrich Haarberg scored on a 25-yard touchdown run to give the Huskers a 17-0 lead in the second quarter.
