Nebraska appears to be in a good spot to land 3-star quarterback Daniel Kaelin.

Kaelin, a Nebraska native, backed off of his commitment from Missouri on Friday afternoon. He had been committed to Mizzou since March.

Here’s his decommitment announcement:

There’s also evidence that Nebraska has been recruiting Kaelin since losing out on 5-star quarterback Dylan Raiola earlier this month.

According to The Athletic’s Mitch Sherman, Kaelin worked out in front of Nebraska staff members at his high school earlier this week.

Earlier Friday morning, Nebraska received a 247Sports Crystal Ball projection from 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong.

If Nebraska is able to land Kaelin, he would be a big pickup for the Huskers. He’s also received offers from programs such as North Carolina, Miami and Colorado, amongst others.

He’s ranked as the No. 521 overall player and the No. 32 quarterback in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 4 player from the state of Nebraska.

Kaelin attends Bellevue West High School in Bellevue, Nebraska. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 198 pounds.
