Nebraska wide receiver Jaylen Lloyd entered the transfer portal on Monday, per reports. The deadline to enter the portal was Saturday at midnight, but teams were still submitting transfer paperwork on Monday.

Lloyd becomes the 5th Nebraska WR to enter the portal, joining Isaiah Neyor, Malachi Coleman, Dae’vonn Hall, and Isaiah McMorris. In 2024, Lloyd caught 13 passes for 255 yards. The WR’s best game in 2024 came against Indiana when he caught 3 passes for 36 yards,

In 23 career games with the Huskers over 2 seasons, Lloyd caught 19 passes for 492 yards and 3 TDs. All 3 of Lloyd’s TDs came during the 2023 season. The WR’s final game with the Huskers was the Pinstripe Bowl last Saturday. Lloyd had 1 catch for 7 yards in Nebraska’s victory over Boston College.

Before committing to Nebraska, Lloyd starred for Westside High School in Omaha. The WR was rated as a 3-star prospect and the 247Sports Composite ranking had Lloyd as the No. 74 athlete and the No. 9 prospect out of Nebraska in the 2023 class. Lloyd chose the Huskers over offers from North Dakota and Northern Iowa.

Lloyd showed promise with the Huskers but will now look to get a fresh start elsewhere. The WR will have 2 years of eligibility plus a redshirt remaining at his new school.

While the Huskers have lost several receivers, they’ve also gained a couple. Former Kentucky WR Dane Key and former Cal WR Nyziah Hunter transferred to Nebraska and should play key roles on the team in 2025.
