Adrian Martinez is finding a way to stay positive. Despite Nebraska’s 0-4 start, the freshman quarterback is trying to make the most of every opportunity.

He has another major test ahead of him this week, as the Huskers travel to Madison to take on No. 16 Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium. Saturday’s game will be under the lights.

Camp Randall Stadium is considered to be one of the most hostile atmospheres in college football. And with the game being at night, students and fans will likely be even rowdier Saturday.

Martinez is looking forward to the challenge.

“I’m excited for the opportunity,” Martinez said. “This is what college football is all about.”

This won’t be the first big-time road game for the freshman. Two Saturdays ago, the Huskers were in Ann Arbor for a game against Michigan in the Big House. Nebraska took a 56-10 beating that day.

But Martinez and the Huskers are coming a much better performance last Saturday. Though it was another loss, this time to Purdue, Martinez threw for 323 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for an additional 91 yards. He was spectacular for most of the contest.

Can that offensive success carry over to Saturday? It’ll be a huge test against a stout Wisconsin defense.

Martinez isn’t afraid of Saturday night’s competition, though. And that’s a really good thing for the Huskers.
