Kicker Connor Culp booted a career-long field goal to give Nebraska its first points of the game at Oklahoma. Culp drilled a 51-yard-field goal in the first quarter to narrow Oklahoma’s lead to 7-3.

In Culp’s last game vs. Buffalo, he missed all three of his field goal attempts. Heading into this contest, Culp was 2-for-5 overall on his kicks.

Prior to the rivalry game, there was a pre-game skirmish that had Nebraska coach Scott Frost upset at the officials.

Nebraska entered as heavy 22-point underdog vs. defending Big 12 champion Oklahoma.

The matchup at Oklahoma is one of five games Nebraska has remaining against current ranked opponents. Nebraska also has matchups vs. No. 25 Michigan (Oct. 9), vs. No. 9 Ohio State (Nov. 6), at No. 18 Wisconsin (Nov. 20), and vs. No. 5 Iowa (Nov. 26).
