You know attendance has reached a crisis point when fans in Nebraska stop coming to games.

Of course, the Cornhuskers had fallen on hard times last season but some of the crowds for the final home games of the season are pretty stunning considering Nebraska’s sellout streak.

According to Sam McKewon of the World-Herald, Nebraska had fewer than 70,000 fans show up for games against conference opponents Ohio State, Northwestern and Iowa. Memorial Stadium Lincoln has a seating capacity of 90,000.

With the program now being led by Scott Frost, attendance is sure to rise once again in Lincoln but the attendance figures the program put out last season go to show that if things are not going well, not even some of the best fans in the world are willing to show up these days.
