Not on Tap: Nebraska AD Bill Moos says Memorial Stadium won't see beer sales anytime soon
Several schools in the B1G have already made the leap to making beer and wine sales available to fans in general seating areas inside the stadium. Nebraska isn’t planning on moving that direction, however.
Nebraska Athletic Director Bill Moos recently told Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald that adding beer sales to the Memorial Stadium experience is not on the table right now. He does not expect that it will be something the school adopts anytime soon, either.
“That is not going to happen,” Moos said. “I’m not in charge of that, saying that will happen. That’s a decision above me. I do not see that happening in the future. What we want to make sure is, we have people in the stadium.
“That has to do more with their comfort, healthwise, than it does the amenities that could be offered.”
Beer and wine sales inside stadiums has been a way for some programs to generate extra revenue over the last few years, as well as improve the fan experience during games. It’s a policy that half of the B1G has already adopted, but Nebraska appears to be steering away from making that change.
