Nebraska is starting this week off on the right foot.
Early Monday morning, the Huskers received a verbal commitment from 3-star, in-state safety Koby Bretz, a native of Omaha. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound defensive back became the 15th player in the 2021 recruiting class to commit to Nebraska.
“I first want to thank all of the coaches who have shown interest in me and have taken their time to recruit me,” Bretz wrote on Twitter. “With that being said I am excited to announce that I will be committing to the University of Nebraska.”

Per 247Sports, Bretz ranks as the No. 6 player from the state of Nebraska. He’s also the No. 152 safety in the recruiting cycle.
Bretz received interest from several FBS programs on the recruiting trail. He committed to Nebraska over offers from Buffalo, Kansas State, Miami (OH), Northern Illinois, Ohio and Wyoming.
With Bretz’s commitment, Nebraska sits 40th in the national recruiting rankings and 9th in the B1G. The Huskers now have three in-state players committed in the 2021 class.
