Gebbia will be a redshirt sophomore next fall.
A week before Nebraska was scheduled to open the 2018 season against Akron, head coach Scott Frost announced that true freshman Adrian Martinez had won the starting job for the Huskers. A day after the announcement, Frost said that Gebbia did not attend practice and was weighing his options.
There were reports out that Gebbia planned to transfer Oregon State, but Monday’s statement from the Beavers serves as confirmation.
Gebbia is a California native and is returns to the West Coast.
