In Week 2 of the college football season, Pittsburgh is facing Ohio.

Great, what does that mean for the Big Ten? Well, nothing.

However, during Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi’s weekly press conference on Monday, he brought up Nebraska football. Why?

Narduzzi is going against an Ohio team led by head coach Frank Solich. Solich, if you can remember, was the man in charge of the Nebraska program from 1998-2003.

Here’s what Narduzzi said about Nebraska and Solich:

“The guy never should have been let go there,” Narduzzi said. “Probably one of the biggest mistakes in Nebraska history. He was a legend there. I’m still (ticked) about it. Like they expected to win 12.”

Solich, during his time at Nebraska, finished with an overall record of 58-19. Not too bad. Not too bad at all. Even at Ohio, Solich has led the Bobcats to a 107-75 overall record over the past 14 seasons.

Narduzzi, who was a defensive coordinator at Michigan State, coached the Spartans from 2007-14. He has knowledge of the Big Ten.

And apparently, he thinks Nebraska made one heck of a mistake 16 years ago.
