In the span of a few days, Nebraska has been able to add some serious talent and depth to its defensive line. On Sunday, it was former TCU defensive end Ochaun Mathis. On Tuesday, it was a transfer out of Texas Tech.

Devin Drew announced his commitment to Nebraska on Tuesday, becoming the latest addition to the Huskers’ roster via transfer. He posted a video on social media to make the move official.

Drew spent two seasons with the Red Raiders, initially transferring into the program from Iowa Western Community College. The skilled defensive lineman will have one year of eligibility remaining at Nebraska.

Last season, Drew played in all 13 games at Texas Tech. He was responsible for 34 tackles and a fumble recovery. In 2020, he appeared in 10 contests with 21 stops, including a tackle for loss.

Coming out of the JUCO ranks, Drew was regarded as one of the top prospects available. At Nebraska, he’ll likely fill a role along the interior of the defensive line.

Since the conclusion of the 2021 season, Scott Frost and his staff have continued to add pieces through the transfer portal. It’s provided a huge boost to the roster and created plenty of buzz around Lincoln entering the 2022 campaign.
