Nebraska is getting a pretty tough tight end.

Recently, 4-star tight end Thomas Fidone gave his verbal commitment to the Huskers, becoming the highest-ranked prospect in the 2021 class to pledge to the program. On Friday night, the Council Bluffs, Iowa native showed off exactly why he’s listed as one of the top 100 overall players in the class.

Fidone showed off elite blocking skills in the game, at one point driving a defender out of the back of the end zone with extreme ease. It was a show of toughness from the 6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end at Lewis Central.

In addition to a strong night blocking, Fidone was brilliant as a pass-catcher. The 4-star prospect totaled 7 catches for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 49-28 victory over Carlisle to improve to 2-0 on the season.

The statistics came from Greg Smith of Hail Varsity.

Below are some of the clips from Fidone, who committed to Nebraska on Aug. 26. The 4-star tight end is ranked as the No. 2 player at his position and top prospect out of Iowa. He’s also the No. 92 overall player, regardless of position.
