Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos is leaving the position, according to a report.
That’s per the Journal Star’s Parker Gabriel, who cites multiple sources.
Moos, 70, had previously said he wanted to remain in his position. He had two years remaining on his contract.
He joined the Huskers in 2017, immediately making his mark by hiring current football coach Scott Frost. He also hired current men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg in 2019.
Moos has been an athletic director since 1990. He had stops at Montana, Oregon and Washington State before arriving in Lincoln.
According to the Omaha World-Herald’s Sam McKewon, the news comes near the end of Nebraska’s fiscal year. A regents meeting is scheduled for later today.
