Report: Despite facing serious charges, Scott Frost says Huskers RB Washington will play in second half
Nebraska running back Maurice Washington is still facing some serious charges in California, but that’s not stopping Scott Frost from playing the ball carrier in the Huskers’ season opener.
Washington, who’s involved in a revenge pornography case that involves a minor in California, suited up for Nebraska for the season opener against South Alabama. He did not see the field in the first half of the game.
In a halftime interview with Husker Sports Network, Frost said that Washington would play in the second half, according to 247Sports. Nebraska has just a 14-7 lead over South Alabama. They were five-touchdown favorites heading into the contest.
Before Saturday’s game, Frost said that Washington would be a game-time decision.
Washington faces two charges in a California revenge porn law. His next court date is scheduled for early September.
