Report: Missing persons report filed for former Nebraska RB Maurice Washington
A missing persons report has been filed to the Lincoln Police Department for former Nebraska running back Maurice Washington. Information first came to the department on June 19, according to a report from the Omaha World-Herald.
No other details were provided on the situation from LPD.
Washington was dismissed from the Nebraska football team in January. He had been removed from the team’s roster and had been suspended prior to his dismissal, and head coach Scott Frost kept the door open on a return for the running back. However, the two parties went separate directions following the 2019 season.
Washington was sentenced to jail in March after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor alleging that he sent a 10-second video of a sex act to a girl who was in the video. Washington was not in the video nor did he record the video. The court case was held in California, his home state.
Following his dismissal, Washington entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal.
In two years at Nebraska, Washington appeared in 18 games and accumulated a total of 1,136 rushing and receiving yards and scored seven total touchdowns. He played in seven contests during the 2019 season.
