Two Nebraska players have been indefinitely suspended by the team just days ahead of the season opener against South Alabama, according to a report from Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald.

Wednesday morning, McKewon tweeted out that Nebraska offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Troy Walters has announced that wide receivers Andre Hunt and Katerian LeGrone have been indefinitely suspended from all team activities. No explanation behind the suspensions was provided at the time of the report.

Nebraska’s announcement comes just a few days before the Huskers take the field in Lincoln against South Alabama on Saturday.

Both Hunt and LeGrone had limited roles for the Huskers last season. Hunt redshirted, playing in just two games at wide receiver. LeGrone appeared in three games and made one catch for eight yards.

With Nebraska being thin on experience at the receiver position, the suspensions for both players is certainly a blow to the team’s depth.
