Shortly before the start of spring football, Nebraska has made a new addition to its coaching staff.

247Sports reported that Tony Tuioti is expected to leave Cal to become the new defensive line coach at Nebraska. Bruce Feldman later confirmed the report.

Tuioti spent the last two seasons on Justin Wilcox’s staff at Cal, serving as the defensive line coach in 2018 and was the outside linebackers coach in 2017. Before arriving at Cal, he was the director of player personnel at Michigan for one season in 2016.

When Tuioti got into coaching college football, he got his start at Hawai’i, his alma mater, where he spent six seasons in various roles. He was the director of player personnel for two years (2008-09), and jumped to become the defensive line coach the following two seasons (2010-11). In his final two years with the Warriors, he was the linebackers coach (2012-13).

Tuioti also spent two years with the Cleveland Browns as an assistant defensive line coach and quality control coach.
