A former Nebraska staffer is reportedly returning to the program.

Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports writes that Vince Guinta is joining Scott Frost’s staff:

247Sports has learned that Vince Guinta has taken the Senior Director of Player Personnel and recruiting position at Nebraska.

Guinta was at Nebraska from 2004-to-2008.  He spent the last 2 seasons at Baylor as Associated AD for Player Personnel. From his Baylor bio:

Vincent Guinta joined the Baylor Football staff in January 2020. He serves as associate athletics director for player personnel. In that role, he oversees all aspects of the Baylor Football recruiting process, which includes prospect identification, evaluations, marketing and social media, and campus visitations. Guinta’s 20 years of major college football involvement, including in the Pac-12, Big Ten, Big 12 and Mountain West conferences, provides national experience to the Bears’ recruiting efforts.

From 2004-08, Guinta was on the staff at the Nebraska. He began as the Huskers’ football operations intern and was promoted to director of football personnel and recruiting after the 2005 season, additionally he served as assistant director of football operations. In 2005, the Tom Lemming Report rated Nebraska as the No. 1 ranked recruiting class in the nation, and during his tenure, Nebraska finished in the top 25 for recruiting four times. Guinta served under head coaches Bill Callahan, Tom Osborne (interim), and Bo Pelini.

Baylor’s 2022 recruiting class finished No. 36 nationally and No. 5 in the Big 12 on the 247Sports Composite. Nebraska’s 2022 class is ranked No. 41 nationally and No. 10 in the Big Ten. The Huskers also added 11 players from the transfer portal in one of the top transfer classes.
