Nebraska running back Maurice Washington ran into some legal trouble recently, after he was cited on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia, according to a report.

The Omaha World-Herald reported that Washington was cited and released for the misdemeanor after University of Nebraska-Lincoln police say they found the running back with a marijuana pipe. The incident happened on Tuesday.

According to the report, police were called to Washington’s dorm after a security officer smelled marijuana. No marijuana was found, but the pipe had marijuana residue and was in Washington’s possession.

“We are aware of the situation and are addressing it,” a Nebraska spokesperson told the Omaha World-Herald, regarding the situation.

The citation comes a few months after Washington was faced with a felony and misdemeanor charges in California in regards to the state’s revenge porn law. He is accused of sending a text message containing a video of a minor — his ex-girlfriend — performing a sex act in 2016 back to her phone. Washington did not record the video and was not involved in the action.

For those charges, Washington is scheduled to appear in court on June 12. He will also have a court date for the citation of drug paraphernalia, as well.
