Nebraska running back Maurice Washington III is facing criminal charges under California’s “revenge porn” law in connection to a video of a Bay Area teen allegedly being sexually assaulted, according to a report from NBC Bay Area.

According to the report, Washington did not record the video and was not involved in the assault, but he’s accused of keeping the video on his phone and sending it to the victim last March, along with a message saying “Remember this hoe [sic].”

The victim is reportedly Washington’s ex-girlfriend, whom he dated in high school.

Per NBC, the video was recorded in 2016 and the victim was only 15 at the time of the assault. Washington is the second person to be criminally charged in connection with the video. The victim said she was ashamed to report the incident, but claims the video shows an assault, not a consensual act.

Officials from the University of Nebraska did not issue a statement on the situation. To read more on the charges, you can visit NBC Bay Area.

Washington just completed his freshman season with the Huskers, rushing for 455 yards and three touchdowns on 77 carries while appearing in 11 games. He also had 24 receptions for 221 yards and a score.
