The head coaching carousel has started to settle out with some major pieces falling into place. Now, those head coaches are trying to fill out their staffs with one new head coach reportedly eyeing a member of Nebraska’s coaching staff.

According to Doug Samuels with Football Scoop, Oregon’s new head coach Dan Lanning has targeted Huskers DL coach Tony Tuioti. Lanning is doing his best to build a strong staff for his first head coaching job:

“That trends looks to be continuing as sources tell FootballScoop that Lanning is seeking to hire Nebraska defensive line coach Tony Tuioti. Sources tell FootballScoop a deal is not in place but could be soon enough.”

Tuioti has been at Nebraska since 2019 after 2 seasons at Cal and another at Michigan. He also has NFL experience from a stint with the Cleveland Browns.

Tuioti does have ties to the west coast after playing and getting his coaching start at Hawaii. Will he head west once again or stick around with Frost at the Huskers?
