Richard Torres, a former Nebraska quarterback, has announced his transfer destination.

The quarterback from Texas is headed back to his home state to play for the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio.

Torres announces his destination via Twitter on Sunday:

Torres joined the Cornhuskers as a 3-star prospect out of Southside High School in San Antonio, and was the lone Texan in the class. The QB chose Nebraska over offers from Kansas State, Utah, and UNLV, among others.

He did not appear for the Cornhuskers in the 2022 season.

Torres will now have the opportunity to develop with the Cardinals. As he joined Nebraska in 2022, former head coach Scott Frost called the QB a potential elite talent, saying “I am really selective with quarterbacks. We were looking at a lot of guys and recruiting a lot of guys. I think he has got elite arm talent.”

Torres will have 4 years of eligibility remaining as he heads to UIW
