Nebraska was 0-6 entering Saturday’s matchup against Minnesota. There hadn’t been much to cheer about as the Huskers entered the second half of the season. Still, Big Red Nation filled Memorial Stadium this weekend.

It’s that kind of loyalty, support and passion that makes Nebraska a little different. It’s a special program with a rich football history. And Scott Frost knows he wouldn’t receive that kind of support from any other school in the country.

During his weekly press conference on Monday, Frost applauded the Husker fans for filling Memorial Stadium on Saturday to see the team produce its first victory of the year.

“There’s not another place in the country where you can be 0-6 and have that kind of energy and a full stadium,” Frost said. “Every single one of the recruits commented on it.”

That kind of support during the roughest season in program history is eye-opening to recruits. And it could be a nice pitch for Frost to keep in his back pocket when making visits.

Fans that showed up at Memorial Stadium were rewarded with an impressive offensive outing, as the Huskers racked up over 600 yards in a 53-28 drubbing of Minnesota.

Big Red Nation has the opportunity to see the Huskers string together a pair of wins this weekend. Nebraska takes on FCS foe Bethune-Cookman in what should be the second straight victory for the Huskers.

It may not be the most enticing opponent, but Memorial Stadium is going to be full.
