Scott Frost isn’t revealing any secrets when it comes to the health of quarterback Adrian Martinez and receiver JD Spielman. The Nebraska head coach is coy on their statuses heading into the Minnesota game.

Frost met with the media on Thursday to talk about the upcoming matchup against the undefeated Gophers. He was asked whether Martinez and Spielman would make the trip to Minnesota after suffering injuries in last week’s game against Northwestern. Frost avoided the question.

“We gotta go play well,” he said, according to Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herlad.

Both Martinez and Spielman were spotted in full pads during Wednesday’s practice, and appeared to have participated in practice. There was no update on their statuses yesterday, either.

Obviously Martinez and Spielman are both huge assets to the offense. Martinez can maneuver well at the quarterback position and Spielman has been the team’s leading receiver this year.

If Martinez can’t go, Noah Vedral would likely be the next guy up. Vedral stepped in last week and drove the Huskers down the field late against Northwestern, setting up the game-winning field goal.

For now, there’s no answer on either player. We may not learn if either guy is playing until the game kicks off in Minneapolis on Saturday night.
