Patrick O’Brien won’t be taking snaps in Scott Frost’s offense after all.

The sophomore quarterback has been granted his release by Nebraska and will seek a transfer following the program’s coaching change. No destination has been named for the QB at this time.

O’Brien saw limited action for Nebraska last year in his only season on campus, throwing for 192 yards and an interception in 2017.

“He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do, he’s a great kid, he wants to find an offense that fits his skillset,” Frost said on Thursday while announcing the news.
