Scott Frost not putting stock in blowout win over Northwestern for 2022 matchup
Scott Frost is getting Nebraska ready for a Week 0 opener in Dublin, Ireland. The matchup for that game is against Northwestern, a team the Huskers bludgeoned to a 56-7 win at home in 2021.
Of course, last year doesn’t play much of an impact on a 2022 showdown. Both teams have new pieces on both sides of the ball, and a game across the pond in Ireland could level the playing field for both sides.
During his game week press conference, Frost admitted he’s not looking to last year’s game for much insight. He also credited Northwestern for being “a lot better team” than the final score illustrated.
Frost even went so far to admit Nebraska probably wasn’t as good as the blowout score illustrated:
Frost downplays last year’s 56-7 Husker win over Northwestern. “They’re a lot better team than that score indicated. I don’t know if we were as good as that score indicated. It was just one of those days. I’ve been on either side of that.”

We’ll see how this year’s showdown shakes out. Nebraska is already a double-digit favorite for the game, but it will be interesting to see if the Huskers are able to run away with it.
