Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez briefly left last week’s game vs. Michigan State due to an injury. This prompted speculation about Martinez’s available for Nebraska’s Week 5 matchup vs. visiting Northwestern.

However, Nebraska coach Scott Frost quickly shot down the rumors during his press conference on Sept. 30. Frost confirmed that Martinez will be under center for the upcoming contest.

Martinez finished with 244 yards and completed 24 of his 34 passes vs. Michigan State. Martinez has been sacked 12 times during the last two games. This season, Martinez has amassed 1,261 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Nebraska leads the all-time series 8-6 vs. Northwestern. Northwestern won last season’s meeting. Nebraska-Northwestern is slated for Oct. 2 (7:30 p.m.) and will be televised on the BTN.
