Fans may not be permitted to attend football games this fall as part of the B1G’s policy for the 2020 season, but the University of Nebraska is still finding ways to keep people involved.

The Omaha World-Herald confirmed that Nebraska is hosting a watch party at Pinnacle Bank Arena — the school’s basketball facility — for the Huskers’ season opener against Ohio State on Saturday, Oct. 24. The game is in Columbus with a kickoff time set for 12 p.m. ET.

Per the report, the doors for the watch party in Lincoln will open one hour prior to kickoff and attendance for the event is free. Concessions will also be available to those attending.

Masks must be worn during the event and in order to be admitted into the building. There are also protocols in place to maintain social distancing throughout the venue.

Athletic director Bill Moos has said that the department would get creative in how to accommodate fans and help the city of Lincoln with the B1G’s decision to prohibit fans from attending games this season. This seems like a pretty good start.
