The time had come for Nebraska to change the carpeting inside the walls of Memorial Stadium. Once the Huskers wrapped up spring practice, the school got to work on replacing the field turf.

Just a few weeks later, the fresh look has been rolled out in Lincoln.

Sean Callahan of HuskersOnline was able to get a really clear view at the new turf inside Memorial Stadium this week, sharing photos on social media. It’s a pretty clean look for Nebraska as it will enter the 2020 season.

Nebraska made shift from a light-and-dark striped turf to a single-tone look. The red letters on the new field provide a nice “pop” to the eye, as well.

The Huskers will step onto the new turf for the first time in the 2022 season on Saturday, Sept. 3 when they host North Dakota inside Memorial Stadium. They will open the regular season a week earlier in Ireland, hosting B1G West foe Northwestern.
