Nebraska is helping its special teams by adding a walk-on kicker and punter to its recruiting class.
On Sunday, Tyler Crawford announced via Twitter his decision to accept a walk-on opportunity with the Huskers. He will be a member of the 2020 recruiting class and will join the program a year after Nebraska struggled mightily in that department.
“After much consideration I have decided to further my academic and athletic career at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln,” Crawford wrote.

According to 247Sports, Nebraska offered Crawford the opportunity to handle kicks, kickoffs or punts.
Crawford made 4-of-7 field goal attempts during his senior season in high school and knocked down 42-of-43 extra point attempts. He also posted a punting average of 38.1 yards per boot while pinning opponents inside their 20-yard line 11 times on 28 attempts.
Last year, the Huskers used six different kickers due to injury and inconsistency.
