If you’re a Nebraska fan, chances are your last real image of Steve Spurrier was a fond one.

It was likely watching the Head Ball Coach do every possible thing to his trademark white visor while watching his Florida team get trounced by the Huskers in the 1996 Fiesta Bowl.

No longer is Nebraska dominating its way to national titles and no longer is Spurrier being Spurrier on the sidelines. In this universe, Steve Spurrier supports the lowly Huskers in his free time.

Really.

Husker beat reporter Robin Washut tweeted one of the more interesting photos you’ll see this week.

We would assume that Spurrier is at an event in Lincoln supporting some sort of cause based on the fact that he has a name tag and he’s forcing an awkward smile.

There are two interesting things to note about Spurrier’s outfit. One, he’s probably wearing his first Adidas apparel in a very long time. I’m guessing that wasn’t readily available at Under Armour-endorsed South Carolina. Also, he has a name tag on. You mean to tell me there’s a room in America that he can walk into and people won’t instantly know who he is?

I don’t believe that. But then again, I also never believed there’d be a day we’d see Spurrier repping the big red.
