Thomas Fidone TD gives Nebraska 2-score lead on first play of 4th quarter
Thomas Fidone is on a streak of scoring touchdowns for Nebraska, and his latest score came on the first play of the fourth quarter in a tight game.
Facing Louisiana Tech in Week 4, the Huskers held a 14-7 lead as the final quarter prepared to start. Nebraska was also driving under Heinrich Haarberg and looking for more points.
The quarterback looked for his big tight end on the first play of the quarter, and it worked out beautifully. Fidone caught the ball on a crossing route and had plenty of room to work with down the sideline.
He outraced the defense and was in the clear for a touchdown:

The latest touchdown gives Fidone and Haarberg a scoring connection in 3 straight weeks. The two scored a late touchdown in the loss to Colorado before connecting 4 times for 42 yards and a touchdown against NIU.
Haarberg has been less efficient in Week 4 but Anthony Grant has carried the load at running back after the season-ending injuries to Gabe Ervin Jr. and Rahmir Johnson. Hopefully, Nebraska can ride Grant the rest of the way to another win.
