A blue blood College Football team has a head coach opening, so naturally, Urban Meyer is rumored as a name in the mix for the job. Despite the controversy during his short stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Meyer still isn’t counted out of the job.

In Tim Tebow’s appearance on the Dan Patrick show, he was asked about the link between Meyer and the job as well as whether or not he should take it.

“I would go Nebraska,” said Tebow when asked about which job he would recommend. “You have one of the best fanbases in college football. You have the ability to raise money there, and now with the NIL in college football that even though it’s not the best recruiting base, Nebraska still has a pretty well-known name and you can be able to rally that fanbase to go get the players you need.”

There is no doubt that Meyer can build a program, and Tebow doesn’t seem to doubt it either despite recent events. First, it was Utah, then Florida, and then Ohio State before his stint with the NFL.

“I just think the tradition… to see the way (Nebraska) fans rally,” Tebow explained. “I just think if they got someone like an Urban, you could rally it very fast and get more players than maybe a lot of places around the country.”

The question, however, is whether or not Meyer wants the job, and whether or not Nebraska has a serious interest in the former head coach. He recently returned to FOX Sports as an analyst and doesn’t seem to be pulled away anytime soon.

For now, Nebraska still has no leads on who will be its next head ball coach, but expect Meyer along with many others to be involved in speculation talks.
