A veteran pass rusher out of TCU is in the transfer portal and he set a visit to Nebraska over the annual spring game.

On Wednesday, defensive end Ochaun Mathis announced his plans for a visit with the Huskers. A member of the 2018 recruiting class, Mathis is in the portal and is still considering 5 programs, including Nebraska.

Mathis has been a key contributor for 3 seasons with the Horned Frogs. Over his career, Mathis has 133 total tackles, 26 TFL, 12.5 sacks and 4 passes defended.

During the 2021 season, Mathis posted 45 total tackles, 4 TFL and 2 sacks. His most productive season came in 2020 when he posted 12.5 TFL and 8 sacks.

In February, Mathis announced Nebraska and Penn State as part of his top 5 potential destinations. USC, Texas and Ole Miss round out that group. Now, Nebraska will get a shot to make a strong impression during Mathis’ visit.
