Transfer QB reportedly granted immediate eligibility with Nebraska
It looks like Nebraska received a bit of good news ahead of this week’s game with Northwestern.
Noah Vedral is a sophomore QB who appeared in six games at UCF under Scott Frost in 2017. Following Frost’s departure to Nebraska, Vedral announced he would be transferring and also headed to the Cornhuskers.
It initially appeared that Vedral would sit out the mandated year before being eligible to play for Nebraska. However, a number of things led to the Cornhuskers’ decision to request a waiver from the NCAA for Vedral to be immediately eligible.
Well, it is being reported that the waiver has been granted with Vedral receiving immediate eligibility from the NCAA. Husker Sports shared the comments from Greg Sharpe, the Voice of Nebraska Football, who also indicated Vedral flew with the team to Chicago:
🗣"Noah Vedral has been granted eligibility immediately for this football team."

Though he appeared in mostly mop-up duty in 2017, Vedral does have a bit of experience on his side. Freshman Adrian Martinez will likely maintain his starting spot moving forward, but having Vedral as a backup could prove vital if Martinez is injured again.
