Three Nebraska walk-on offensive lineman are looking at other opportunities to continue their football careers outside of Lincoln, according to a report from Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald.

This week, AJ Forbes, Josh Wegener and Xavier Trevino have all decided to step into the NCAA transfer portal and explore other options outside of Nebraska. None of the three appeared in a game for the Huskers this past season.

Per McKewon, Wegener is keeping the option to return to Nebraska for the 2020 season open. It seems unlikely that Forbest and Trevino will keep that same mindset, but anything is possible.

Nebraska’s offensive line struggled regularly throughout the 2019 season, though with several returning members it could be a strong-point for the Huskers in 2020. Still, losing depth along the offensive line is never ideal.

The Huskers are scheduled to open the 2020 season at home against Purdue.
