Scott Frost has continued to deliver the same message each week. Every Saturday, after every loss, the Nebraska head coach takes the podium and tells everyone that things will get better.

His message after the Huskers’ 42-28 loss to Purdue, dropping the team to 0-4, didn’t change. Though this time, it came from a more emotional and motivational place.

Earlier in the day, Frost talked about his team being undisciplined. He said he was “tired of watching it” and believes his team is capable of winning games if it can do the little things correctly.

After the game, his demeanor seemed to change slightly.

“I’ve been through this before. I’ve been through a hard time at Nebraska before,” Frost said. “I told the team this week, the thing I’m most proud of about my career at Nebraska is when I was down I fought back. Life’s going to throw a lot of hard things at you.

“Football is not the hardest thing life is going to throw at you. Being 0-4 isn’t the hardest thing life’s going to throw at you. But if you can look yourself in the mirror after that and know you got two choices when your down: stay down or keep fighting. And I’ve been through this before. I got a bunch of guys on this time that are going to keep fighting too.”

Nebraska is off to its worst start since 1945, when the program began the year 0-5. But the Huskers have had chances to win three of their four games this season, with the only blowout loss coming to Michigan.

The Huskers are back in action next Saturday when they travel to Madison to take on No. 15 Wisconsin.
