It was another disappointing weekend in Lincoln.
Nebraska fell to Northwestern on Saturday, dropping to 0-2 on the 2020 season. It was particularly disappointing after an off week the previous Saturday due to Wisconsin cancelling the Week 2 matchup out of an abundance of caution with COVID-19 related issues.
Now, the Huskers must bounce back in a hurry in an attempt to get their first win of the season against a struggling, yet desperate, Penn State team.
Through the first two games, the Huskers have had some offensive success but haven’t been able to capitalize by punching the football into the end zone. There are questions about the quarterback position and whether the red zone offense is ever going to produce results.
On Monday, Frost answered some questions about Nebraska’s 0-2 start and how he hopes things turn around for his program in a hurry. Here are some of the comments the third-year head coach made during his weekly presser this week as the Huskers prepare for Penn State:
Frost said Ronald Thompkins had missed a few practices and wasn't available. Liked how hard Marvin Scott III ran on his first few carries. "That's going to continue to be a competition."

Frost wants Wan'Dale to get the ball more. Said that after the game Saturday. Said it again Monday.

Frost: "The state of Nebraska means so much to me … This is my life right now … Nobody is more impatient than I am and nobody is putting more pressure on themselves than I am."

Frost: That game Saturday was as frustrating as any since he's been here. "I keep saying when it turns, it's going to turn in a big way and we need that to happen soon."

At QB, no decision. Frost did say, "Luke's personality in general, he's a sparkplug … and I think people rally to that."
At center, Jurgens is "day to day."
Frost said there's no doubt the young guys at WR "help stretch the field more" and want to keep driving them along.

Sooner or later, Scott Frost said, the progress in program will show on a scoreboard. Once it turns, he said, "it'll turn in a big way."
The loss to Northwestern was as frustrating a defeat as Frost has had at Nebraska, he said.

Cam Jurgens is officially "day to day" with his injury, Frost says.
