In Week 1, Nebraska had the unenviable task of heading on the road to Columbus to take on an Ohio State team with its sights set on a national championship.

After sticking with the Buckeyes early, the Huskers struggled to keep up as Ohio State cruised to a 45-14 win.

Nebraska is a football team trying to work its way up under third-year coach Scott Frost. With some key pieces missing, that made beating the Buckeyes that much more difficult.

But with that tough test now in the rear-view mirror, the Huskers face another tough test on Saturday in their home opener against No. 9 Wisconsin. Here’s what Frost had to say at his regularly scheduled Monday press conference.

The biggest story surrounding this weekend’s game will most certainly be the status of Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz. After Mertz stole the show in the opener against Illinois, he reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. However, he is waiting to have that result confirmed.

If he is indeed positive that means he will automatically sit out for 21 days, per conference rules. That could open the door for a possible Nebraska upset.
