What Scott Frost said after losing in dramatic fashion to Northwestern
It almost happened.
Nebraska was so close.
And yet, even with a 10-point lead with under 3 minutes to go, the Huskers still found a way to lose..
Nebraska was about to win a football game under Scott Frost as coach in 2018. The win, of course, would have been his first as the man in charge of the program. However, Northwestern went down the field and kicked a field goal to make the score 31-24 with 2:27 remaining.
Then, a 99-yard drive with no timeouts finished with a TD for the Wildcats after getting the ball back. This led to a 31-31 score going into OT.
The overtime period went perfectly wrong for Nebraska, as the Huskers went for it on 4th-and-1 from the 16-yard-line and then snap went right by QB Adrian Martinez as it was snapped into the ground. Martinez picked it up and eventually threw an INT.
All Northwestern needed on its possession was a field goal and that’s exactly what Northwestern got. Huskers lose 34-31.
After the devastating loss, pushing Nebraska to 0-6 on the season, Frost spoke with the media:
“I’m running out of words to tell them.” Scott Frost on what he told the players after the game. #huskers #gbr #nebraska

Frost says Pickering is going to be fine but his miss early influenced the OT decision.
