What Scott Frost said after Nebraska's fifth-straight loss, defeat to Wisconsin
The 2018 season has been a disaster for Nebraska.
There’s not really another way to put it.
Expectations weren’t exactly through the roof in Year 1 for new coach Scott Frost, but nobody saw an 0-5 start coming. After all, Nebraska went 4-8 overall a year ago. Were things going to get worse under Frost?
So far, that answer is probably yes.
Just to get back to 4-8, the Huskers would have to finish this season by going 4-3 in their last 7 games. Does that seem likely?
On Saturday, Nebraska had a chance to get its first win of the season, but failed at Wisconsin. The Badgers ran all over the Huskers en route to a 41-24 final score. One statistical bright spot for the Huskers was QB Adrian Martinez, who completed 24 of 42 passes for 384 yards and two TDs.
Next week, Nebraska will travel to face Northwestern.
After the 17-point loss to Wisconsin, Frost spoke with the media. Here is a bit of what he had to say:
Scott Frost: Right now, they're just better than we are.

Frost: "I think we're on the road to getting to a better place."

Frost said team got closer this week, didn't make dumb penalties, fought hard. Team made some mistakes. #huskers

Frost on depatures of Bell and Lindsey: "I wish them well." He added he probably shouldn't say anything else.

Frost: “I told the team, sometimes when you’re sick you have to puke it out.”

Frost: “I hate losing more than anyone in the world. I challenge you to find anyone who hates it more than me. But I think we’re on the road to getting this in a better place.”

Frost keeps hitting on the idea that if a few things go Nebraska’s way, that the game would’ve been close headed down the stretch.
“The boys are close, we just gotta make those plays.”
