For Scott Frost’s Nebraska squad, winning its season opener on the road at defending Big Ten champion Ohio State was a nearly impossible task.

That became evident as the Buckeyes’ offense proved to be too much as Ohio State defeated the Huskers 52-17 on Saturday.

Things started well for Nebraska as Adrian Martinez kicked things off with a 10-yard touchdown run to make it 7-0.

From there, however, the Huskers were outscored 52-10. Nebraska was plagued by a slow offense and a defense that lost two players due to targeting penalties in the second half.

Despite the final score being lopsided, those in Lincoln feel better about this performance than what happened last season when Ohio State came in and blew out Nebraska on its home turf, 48-7.

Here’s what Frost had to say following his team’s loss.
