Will Bolt is making a change to his Nebraska coaching staff following a disappointing 2023 season for the Huskers.

On Tuesday, Bolt and Nebraska announced a mutual parting of ways between the program and assistant coach Jeff Christy. Christy had been an assistant under Bolt for 4 seasons, serving as the pitching coach for the Huskers in that time.

“Jeff and I have a close relationship dating back to our College World Series run in 2005,” said Bolt. “He played a key role for the last four seasons and helped us earn a Big Ten Championship and NCAA Regional Final appearance in 2021. I wish Jeff and his family nothing but the best moving forward.”

During the 2021 season, Nebraska finished 34-14 and pushed Arkansas to the brink before going down in the regional round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament. Last season, the Huskers finished a disappointing 23-30 overall before going 33-23-1 in 2023.

Nebraska did play for the B1G Tournament title this season but ultimately fell to Maryland and missed out on the NCAA Tournament. The Huskers finished the 2023 season with a 4.64 team ERA and 56 home runs allowed.
