The three Detroit Casinos took a step back in the month of June, producing just $101.8 million in revenue.

That snapped a three-month streak where the city saw its casinos record over $110 million in revenue.

June’s $101.8 million total was a 10.1% dip compared to May’s $113.3 million.

However, it was still a slight improvement on a year ago. June’s total was a 1.5% increase on June 2025’s $100.4 million in revenue.

MGM Grand Detroit Continues to Lead the Way

Of the three Detroit casinos, it was the MGM Grand Detroit once again generating the most revenue by a wide margin.

Here’s a look at how each of the three casinos performed in June, according to data from the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

  • MGM Grand Detroit: $47,609,684
  • MotorCity Casino: $31,811,186
  • Hollywood Casino at Greektown: $22,424,232

These three casinos generated $8.2 million in state tax revenue in June, as well as an additional $12.1 million in Detroit city tax revenue.

Detroit Casinos Increase Distance on 2025

The three Detroit casinos managed to create a little more distance on 2025 in June despite the low revenue total.

Thus far, the trio have combined for $647.8 million in 2026, a 1.4% improvement from where they sat a year ago.

Detroit CasinoRevenue (Jan-June 2025)Revenue (Jan-June 2026)% Difference
MGM Grand Detroit$302,788,776$309,165,1232.1%
MotorCity Casino$191,939,687$196,786,2862.5%
Hollywood Casino at Greektown$144,327,357$141,842,661-1.7%
Total$639,055,820$647,794,0701.4%

Through six months, Detroit is on pace for just shy of $1.3 billion in revenue for 2026. Getting to that mark would be a first for the trio since before the pandemic and since Michigan online casinos launched.

June one of Detroit’s Lowest Months Annually

The June number is a little eye-opening compared to recent months, but not too surprising.

June has been one of the worst for the Detroit casinos when it comes to revenue generation.

With schools out, many families are on vacation during the month and casinos aren’t exactly a family destination.

Here’s how June has looked in recent years for the Detroit commercial casinos.

  • June 2026: $101.8 million
  • June 2025: $100.4 million
  • June 2024: $104.6 million
  • June 2023: $101.9 million
  • June 2022: $98.2 million

The good news for Detroit is that July and August tend to see an improvement in revenue compared to June. However, it’s not likely to hit the $110 million marks like they saw in the late winter and spring.

Should they get to $110 million or more in the next few months, it will be a really good sign for their prospects to reach $1.3 billion for the year.
