Many online gamblers may have noticed already, but ESPN BET is no longer available in Michigan.
Monday marked the end of the brief two-year partnership between PENN Entertainment and the ESPN platform, following a 10-year, $2 billion agreement back in 2023.
PENN elected to make a quick transition from ESPN BET, immediately implementing theScore Bet in its place in every state where ESPN BET existed.
Though the new operator has an online casino option as part of its app, PENN is focused on continuing to develop Hollywood Casino as its primary iGaming option.
With a top-tier Hollywood Casino promo code offer, users can expect to see PENN pour more into the operator in the near future.
ESPN BET Moves to theScore Bet on Monday
Users of ESPN BET would have quickly noticed that the app made the seamless shift to theScore Bet early on Monday.
Anyone logging into ESPN BET would have received a notification of the change. Users needed to simply update the app for the changes to take place.
Upon the update, all settings and financial information transferred over from ESPN BET to theScore Bet. Any existing futures bets that were in place would also make a change over to the new brand.
For those that haven’t updated the app, you won’t notice much difference. The app holds the same look and appearance as ESPN BET, just with theScore Bet logo replacing where ESPN was previously located.
On the home screen of theScore Bet, there is an option for casino games on the bottom menu bar. Selection the casino icon will take you to available games and promotions for the online casino of theScore Bet. They will not have the same number of options as Hollywood Casino.

Hollywood Casino Bonus Code Offer for December
Despite being a separate app, Hollywood Casino is the iGaming platform that PENN Entertainment is focused on right now.
Currently, Hollywood Casino has a special promo code offer exclusive to Saturday Tradition.

Must manually enter promo code STCASINO to claim offer.
By using our promo code for Hollywood Casino of “STCASINO” gives new users $50 in bonus funds and 50 bonus spins by wagering your first $5 on the app.
What helps separate this offer from other casino bonuses is that this promo has just a 1x wagering requirement. That means that any winnings from the bonus funds or from the bonus spins will be released to your account immediately. That makes them available for withdrawal right away.
PENN Believes in Online Casino Product
The 10-year deal between ESPN and PENN Entertainment was not meeting its intended purpose.
ESPN BET was not finding itself near the top of the US market share for online sportsbooks. Though the sports betting product wasn’t seeing growth, its iGaming product continues to be on the rise.
In Michigan alone, Hollywood Casino has seen rapid growth in revenue. In October, PENN surpassed $9 million in monthly revenue for the first time in Michigan, reaching $9.3 million. It marked the fifth time in 2025 that Hollywood Casino reached a new monthly revenue record in the state.
The app is following the trend of all Michigan online casinos, where revenue continues to see new records consistently throughout the year.
Following the news of the split from ESPN, PENN Entertainment made it clear that it was going to continue to build on its iGaming success.
Jay Snowden, CEO and President of PENN, noted during the company’s Q3 investor call that iGaming business was up 40% year-over-year in 2025, while also hitting record revenue for the quarter.
“Our OSB offerings will continue to provide top of funnel acquisition and cross-sell opportunities for our Hollywood-branded iCasino, which will remain integrated into our OSB product in states where legal, in addition to serving as a standalone iCasino app,” PENN noted during their Q3 press release.
With that being PENN’s focus, users may see added promo offers and rewards in the next year to help push Hollywood Casino to a higher level in the US iGaming landscape.
