Hollywood Casino Promo Code Helping PENN Build Revenue In Michigan

PENN Entertainment has been in the news over the years for its shifting partnerships.
But, one move that has led to success is shifting its Michigan online casino to the Hollywood Casino branding.
In November 2023, PENN parted ways with Barstool Sports to begin a new partnership with ESPN. During that time, PENN also made the decision to build its own standalone online casino with the Hollywood Casino branding, which is established in retail casinos around the US.
Even with PENN and ESPN ending their partnership to start December, shifting to theScore Bet, Hollywood Casino continues to see revenue growth in Michigan.
The last two months have seen the highest monthly revenue in PENN’s history in Michigan. It also doesn’t hurt that the Hollywood Casino bonus code has just a 1x playthrough requirement, which has to help bring in new customers.
Hollywood Casino App Launch Leads To Records
The PENN split from Barstool took place mid-November of 2023. The company shifted its focus to Hollywood Casino for an iGaming brand while also offering casino games on the ESPN Bet Sportsbook app.
In January of this year, Hollywood Casino launched its standalone online casino app in Michigan. It should be no surprise since then, PENN is seeing record amounts of iGaming revenue in the state.
Here’s a look at how 2025 has compared to 2024 for online casino revenue from PENN in Michigan.
| Month | 2024 OC Revenue | 2025 OC Revenue | Percentage Growth |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | $5,092,337 | $6,258,359 | 22.9% |
| February | $4,869,918 | $5,255,470 | 7.9% |
| March | $5,247,717 | $7,288,860 | 38.9% |
| April | $4,604,253 | $6,645,485 | 44.3% |
| May | $4,883,424 | $7,155,347 | 46.5% |
| June | $3,601,407 | $7,527,807 | 109.0% |
| July | $4,407,075 | $8,425,248 | 91.2% |
| August | $4,260,323 | $7,309,377 | 71.6% |
| September | $4,368,771 | $7,714,443 | 76.6% |
| October | $5,281,607 | $9,295,589 | 76.0% |
| November | $5,508,542 | $9,072,511 | 64.7% |
| Total | $52,125,374 | $81,948,496 | 57.2% |
While the Hollywood Casino app launch led to a slight increase year-over-year, the second half of the year has seen drastic growth in PENN’s revenue. Since June, each month has produced at least 64% improvement in revenue.
Overall, Hollywood Casino has already set a new yearly revenue record for PENN at $81.9 million through November of this year. Should it be able to maintain what it has done the last two months, that would get the operator to $90 million for the year.
Starting Dec. 1, PENN Entertainment shifted from ESPN BET to theScore Bet for its online sportsbook. While the new sportsbook app also does offer online casino games, Hollywood Casino remains the primary focus of PENN’s iGaming efforts.
