Michigan Online Casinos Near Yearly Revenue Record After $259.1 Million In September
By Drew Ellis
Published:
In September, Michigan online casinos nearly reached $260 million in revenue once again.
Last month, the state reported $259.1 million in iGaming revenue, according to the Michigan Gamine Control Board.
September’s total was the third-highest monthly revenue in state history. In August, Michigan set the record with $263.3 million, while the state hit $260.5 million in March.
This latest number continues the trend of massive OC revenue gains in Michigan in 2025. Last September, the state recorded $202.6 million, which was the second-most in Michigan’s history at the time. A year later, revenue was 27.9% greater.
Entering October, Michigan online casino revenue is within reach of setting a new yearly revenue record already.
Breaking Down Michigan’s September’s 2025 OC Revenue
In September, 10 different Michigan online casino operators saw increased revenue compared to a year prior.
Here’s a look at how each online operator performed in September compared to the previous year. Information provided by the MGCB.
Michigan Online Casino Revenue to Top 2024 in October
If you need any more examples that Michigan online casinos aren’t slowing down in revenue anytime soon, consider that the state has likely already surpassed its entire 2024 total.
With September’s $259.1 million, the state is now at $2.24 billion in revenue for all of 2025. Last year saw the state generate $2.44 billion in revenue for the entire year. That was a new record by a wide margin.
All Michigan needs is $196.9 million in October to surpass that 2024 online casino revenue total. Michigan has reached at least $240 million each month outside of February. Give how late we are into October, it’s likely that Michigan has already set that new yearly revenue record.
As revenue keeps piling up for the online casinos, the tax revenue for Michigan is also rising. This month, the state collected $50.8 million in tax revenue from online casinos, while city and local entities added another $19.1 million.
Revenue Growing More Than Ever
There’s no ceiling you can currently put on Michigan online casinos when it comes to revenue.
Things are just not slowing down.
Just look at September, alone. Each year, the revenue from iGaming has growing at least 21% year-over year.
Year | September MI Online Casino Revenue | Growth From Previous Year |
---|---|---|
2021 | $102,380,222 | N/A |
2022 | $128,734,447 | 25.7% |
2023 | $166,424,468 | 29.3% |
2024 | $202,591,670 | 21.7% |
2025 | $259,123,961 | 27.9% |
While the percentage growth topped in 2023, the total dollar amount keeps picking up. This year, September saw $56.5 million more in revenue than September 2024.
Should this growth rate continue, Michigan would be looking at $300 million in monthly revenue in the future. No state has been able to reach that milestone as of yet.
